On Friday, April 3, Acreage Holdings Inc. announced that COVID-19 has forced lay offs and closures, including 122 employees.
Acreage has temporarily laid off 122 employees and temporarily stopped various operations in several states, including a dispensary in Maryland, a dispensary in North Dakota, wholesale operations in Iowa, as well as Form Factory operations in California, Oregon, and Washington. Acreage’s Queens, New York medical dispensary has been converted into a delivery hub.
Acreage operates one of the largest, vertically integrated, multi-state cannabis companies in the U.S.
Acreage states, in a press release dated April 3 2020, “a series of operational updates and strategic business decisions related to the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and other uncontrollable factors that have greatly shifted the cannabis landscape” are responsible for these changes.
