De Overkant, “The Other Side”, is a canalside coffeeshop located in Amsterdam Oost (East). Also known as "De Overkant Hortus", this shop, as name implies, sits directly across the canal from Amsterdam's famous botanical gardens. The Amsterdam Hortus Botanicus is one of the world's oldest botanical gardens, showcasing plants from all over the globe.

De Overkant is a traditional Amsterdam coffeeshop in both menu and appearance. Seating along the large windows at the front of the shop overlooks the beautiful Nieuwe Herengracht Canal. While the shop's smoking lounge is not large, there is additional seating outside during nice weather. De Overkant's diverse menu features an assortment of traditional Dutch strains, hybrids, and import hashes as well as a selection of pre-rolled joints and edibles. The shop also offers an assortment of basic snacks as well as hot and cold beverages.
