Hash Bash is an annual event in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Hash Bash used to be held on April 1st annually and is now held on the first Saturday each April at noon at the University of Michigan. The event's purpose is to influence federal, state, and local marijuana policy with speakers, live music, street vending, and sometimes civil disobedience.
The first Hash Bash was held on Saturday April 1st, 1972. The event returned in 1973, attracting about 3,000 attendees.
Over the years, event attendance has progressively risen to 10,000-15,000 individuals, including well-known industry activists, artists, writers, and celebrities including Ed Rosenthal, DJ Short, Adam Brook, Jorge Cervantes, Nicholas Zettel, Keith Stroup, Danny Danko, John Sinclair, Tommy Chong, Laith Al-Saadi, Virg Bernero, and Coleman Young II.
