Grodan's mission is to enable sustainable food production at higher yields. The products developed by Grodan reduce water and energy consumption and CO2 emissions. As a subsidiary of the Rockwool Group, Grodan develops innovative and sustainable stone wool substrate solutions for professional horticulture worldwide. These solutions are used, among other things, in the cultivation of vegetables and flowers such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, medical cannabis, eggplant, roses and gerberas.
Stone wool substrates are supplied together with customer-specific advice and tailor-made tools. This supports the 'Precision Growing principle' developed by Grodan and increases the efficiency in the cultivation of fresh products. This leads to an easier and sustainable production process of healthy, safe and tasty fresh products for the consumer.
Sustainability plays an important role at GRODAN from production of stone wool substrates to end-of-life solutions. GRODAN was founded in 1969 and is active in more than 60 countries worldwide with 120 employees. The head office is located in Roermond, the Netherlands. GRODAN is the market leader in rock wool substrate solutions for plants, horticulturists and society. GRODAN is a sales and marketing organization with its own R&D department, mainly active in North America and Europe.

Feature Information
You make it possible for Grodan to see new opportunities and act on them business-wise. You collect market information in Asia, Europe and South America. This may concern, for example, certain crops, product options, prices, competitors and new ways of growing such as vertical farming. You create strategic research plans aimed at the long term. You analyze the collected qualitative and quantitative data yourself and based on your conclusions you offer the organization insights into which product could be successful in which region. You report and present the findings and the business cases based on them within the Grodan management team. It is a pivotal position in which you have contact with a wide range of disciplines within the organization.
When employees within Grodan have questions about the market, they are the first to come to you. You challenge Sales Employees and Business Directors on their market assumptions. Your information leads to new sales opportunities and supports Marketing, Supply Chain and Business Development in its activities. You start investigations on your own initiative or in response to questions from employees in the organization. When you have finished your research, Grodan is 'all eyes and ears' to hear about the developments. You're the one who knows where Grodan's future lies. It is therefore a role that is strategic in nature and is guiding for the future of Grodan.

Job requirements
You have a Master's degree in marketing, business, statistics, finance or similar, or you have gained comparable knowledge through specific work experience. You also have experience working within marketing, research or campaign analyses, preferably as an external consultant or as part of an FMCG organization. Your curiosity and proactiveness enable you to independently develop new research strategies and analyze data in a critical manner. You are able to communicate results convincingly, on your own initiative and in a connecting way to stakeholders orally and in report form (in English).
