Jack Herer Cup Amsterdam – 2020 Voting Open!

Judging is officially underway for the 2020 edition of Amsterdam’s Jack Herer Cup, an event paying homage to legendary cannabis rights activist Jack Herer.

After a successful inaugural edition of the cup’s European installment in the Spring of 2019, the Jack Herer Cup has returned to Amsterdam. Voting remains open from November 27th until December 12th, 2020. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the cup’s awards ceremony was forced to go digital, meaning that you too can now experience the cup’s formerly exclusive awards event. Better yet, you can do so from the comfort of your own home.

The 2020 installment of the Jack Herer Cup features entries of various categories which include Best Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid Flowers, Best Haze Flower, Best Pre-Roll, Best Edible, Best Coffeeshop, and Best Extract to name just a few.

Initially anticipated for the Spring of 2020, the cup was postponed due to the global outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. A digital awards ceremony was inevitably arranged so that the cup could continue.

“Due to COVID-19 we won’t be able to have the traditional awards ceremony at the Hard Rock Cafe as planned,” the cup’s organizers said in a statement. “The Dutch Government decided to shut down all bars, clubs and restaurants until the second half of January. To show love and respect to the industry, we do want to continue and therefore we decided to announce the winners of this year’s edition online at The Cup Winners 2020 Livestream . . . The voting process will stay the same. The award winners will receive the awards in the week after the winners are known.”

The award ceremony for this year’s cup will stream live from Amsterdam. It will be available for all to view on the Jack Herer Cup Europe’s YouTube channel.

Another concept introduced for this year’s cup is the exclusive “Highroller” judging badge. To earn this badge, those wishing to sample various cup entries can visit different coffeeshop locations across the Netherlands. At each location, judges receive a stamp on their judging card. The first 100 attendees tocollect 10 stamps will receive a goodie bag packed with fun prizes and the limited edition Highroller Judge Badge.
