Contrary to popular belief, Amsterdam isn’t as free as many think. In many ways, Amsterdam is not as liberated as many believe it to be.

Numerous bars and clubs do not comply with the tolerance policy, which permits people to lawfully carry no more than 5 grams of cannabis. Even though cannabis is technically illegal in the country, hosts have the right to decide whether or not to allow it within their venues. A few weeks ago, security at Pride Parade prohibited anyone from bringing cannabis into free outdoor stages, despite the fact that the law does not prohibit carrying up to 5 grams.

Luckily for anyone heading to Reggae Lake Festival this weekend, this is not something you will have to worry about.

The event is allowing every patron to carry up to 5 grams of cannabis (or hash). Though, there is a catch. Do not try to bring any pre-rolls, or they will be confiscated as per the rules stated by the festival organizers. Only flower and hash products will be allowed in. You are able to roll-your-own once inside the festival grounds.
